[Watch] How Mohammad Nabi Practiced Hard To Get Rid Of KL Rahul In LSG Vs MI Match?

KL Rahul’s dismissal against Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2024 clash was largely supported by Mohammad Nabi’s spectacular catch at the deep boundary rope. However, it appears that Nabi premeditated the fielding movement as he rigorously practiced for the same catch in the net session the previous night.

As Mumbai Indians met Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium earlier today, the hosts brutally dismantled MI’s batting lineup with a stellar display of bowling skills.

From 27/4, MI still managed to reach a respectable total of 144 runs by the end of the first 20 overs, courtesy of Tim David’s 18 ball 35 runs quick finish.

However, in the chase, LSG lost captain KL Rahul right after a steady partnership of 50 runs with Marcus Stoinis.

Rahul swung MI captain Hardik Pandya’s length delivery hard towards deep mid-wicket but fell short of inches as Mohammad Nabi grabbed a fine one-legged catch at the boundary rope. While his one leg was up in the air, Nabi managed to balance his body well and avoid a costly fumble.

Interestingly, Nabi was captured practicing a similar catch during MI’s net session a day before. The Afghanistan veteran took multiple reps and cracked the code to make a perfect catch. And luckily, the practice helped him send KL Rahul back in a crucial run chase.

However, irrespective of Nabi’s brilliant effort in the field, LSG managed to successfully complete a nerve-wracking chase and advance to third place on the points table. On the flip side, MI slipped to ninth place with just six points in 10 games.
