Australian all-rounder, Marcus Stoinis faced a dramatic dismissal that left fans on the edge of their seats during Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) vs Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 48th match of IPL 2024.

Stoinis, who had shown signs of returning to form with a splendid century in the previous match against CSK, was looking set to continue his impressive run against MI at the Ekana Stadium.

However, his innings came to an abrupt halt in the 16th over when Mohammad Nabi, the crafty Afghan spinner, had the last laugh against him. Despite conceding 12 runs in the first four balls of the over, Nabi managed to outfox Stoinis with a well-directed short delivery aimed at the stumps.

In an attempt to dispatch the ball over the mid-wicket boundary, Stoinis swung across the line but lost control due to his bottom hand slipping off the bat. Consequently, he failed to generate sufficient power, resulting in a miscued shot.

The ball soared towards the deep mid-wicket region where Tilak Varma, stationed near the ropes, pulled off a sensational catch just before the boundary line.

At the time of writing, LSG needs 26 runs in 25 balls.
