Indian cricket has a long history of some world-class captains and Rohit Sharma with a T20 World Cup trophy has etched his name in that elite list. He has been a successful captain in IPL as well and led Mumbai Indians to record five IPL titles. Plenty of cricketers over the years have praised his leadership and now Praveen Kumar, the former Indian pacer who played for Mumbai Indians in IPL also opened up about Rohit's leadership skills.
Praveen Kumar in his interview with Lallantop mentioned that Rohit Sharma is in a different league as a captain and knows how to bring out the best from his players. He added that Rohit has great ability to mix aggression with fun as a captain and he takes both senior and junior players along with him.
"Rohit is in a different league as a captain, you will see his aggression & smile on his face, he will do fun & will scold his players as well while team is in ground, I like how he takes all the players along with him whether it's junior or senior, he is a great captain."
Praveen Kumar and Rohit Sharma's Long Connection
Praveen Kumar has played with Rohit Sharma during the current Indian captain's early days and there is an old video of an Australian tour where both are seen fighting with an abusive fan. Praveen Kumar could not live upto his billing after initial success as injuries halted his progress while Rohit Sharma has gone onto become one of the best of the game. However, the bond between the two is still intact and Praveen Kumar's latest statement on Rohit Sharma speaks a lot about the mutual respect and qualities of Rohit Sharma as a popular leader in Indian cricket.
