Former Indian skipper Virat Kohli seems to be in a good mood as he is all set to play against the West Indies. Kohli has been seen in high spirits and getting in shape for the coming Test series against the Men in maroon.
Kohli is a part of India's Test and ODI teams for the Windies tour and would love to rack up runs ahead of the ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled on home soil in October-November.
In a recent interaction with Star Sports on 'Follow the Blues', the question arose whether Kohli had plans to spend time with his friend and fellow cricketer, Chris Gayle, in the Caribbean. Kohli responded affirmatively, expressing his excitement to meet the West Indies legend.
Here's What Kohli Replied
"Well Chris, I have hung out with him for so many years. I am sure that when we are in Jamaica, we will definitely go and meet Chris. He always invites the team home to have a good time and just chill out."
He acknowledged their strong bond on and off the cricket field, reminiscing about the memorable moments they shared during IPL. With genuine enthusiasm, Kohli eagerly looks forward to reconnecting with Gayle, relishing the opportunity to enjoy each other's company during their time in the Caribbean.
The Former Indian captain also added:
"So I am sure he is going to do the same again if he is in town. Everyone loves him. We went last time as well to his place, we had a great time and he is such a humble guy. Definitely, if he is free and he is in town, sure we are going to catch up with him."
India's West Indies tour starts with the first Test of a two-match series on July 12 in Dominica.
