Mumbai Indians suffered a disappointing defeat at the hands of the Rajasthan Royals, losing by 9 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

This loss extended Mumbai Indians' streak of not winning at this stadium since 2012. Post-game, Hardik Pandya took a reflective stance, evaluating the reasons behind the defeat.

Despite the setback, Pandya expressed his commitment to learning from the mistakes made during the match, showing determination to bounce back stronger in the remaining fixtures.

"We put ourselves in trouble early on. The way Tilak and Nehal batted - that was fantastic. I don't think that when we lost a couple of wickets early we thought we would even reach 180. We didn't finish well and that's why we were 10-15 runs short. We had to keep it within the stumps (while bowling). Early on in the Powerplay, we gave a lot of width and I don't think it was our best day in the field as well. Overall, we did not put the right foot on the park and eventually they outplayed us."

Mumbai Indians won the toss and decided to bat first. However, the Rajasthan bowlers, led by Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma, quickly put them on the back foot. Mumbai's top three batters collapsed, who were the ones that gave steady start to MI on previous games.

With brave knocks from Tilak Varma and Nehal Wadhera, Mumbai managed to reach a total of 179 runs. Despite initially looking set to score over 200, Sandeep Sharma's excellent bowling performance, which earned him five wickets, contained Mumbai's scoring.

In return Jaiswal played a fantastic innings, scoring a century and batting till the end. Throughout the match, Mumbai's bowlers struggled to challenge the Rajasthan batters, ultimately resulting in a comfortable victory for Rajasthan Royals.
