After stepping onto the Dubai surface, Varun Chakravarthy changed his past memory of the venue and scripted a new tale of excellence. His exceptional five-wicket haul against New Zealand stunned the cricket world.

After that remarkable spell, cricket fans showered praises on him. His teammate and Team India’s T20I skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, is not out of the list. He hailed Chakravarthy’s brilliance.

Before the clash against New Zealand, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium used to haunt the bowler because of his forgettable performance against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021. But the last against the Kiwis, Varun Chakravarthy, shined with an exceptional 5-wicket haul. After that, Suryakumar Yadav praised him for his brilliance while hailing his mindset.

"I am really happy for him. He deserves everything (for) what he has been doing and all the recognition for what has been happening with him. He has been a really hard-working athlete since 2021; I have been watching him and have spoken with him a lot of times since he made his comeback to international cricket,” he said.

SKY’s Take On IPL Captaincy Conundrum

As the IPL 2025 is commencing soon, Suryakumar Yadav is all set to step up in the team. As the side has named a star-studded squad, Hardik Pandya, Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, and Suryakumar Yadav are gracing the team with their captaincy brilliance. When asked about any potential captaincy conundrum, Suryakumar shared his own unique take.

“As soon as we go to our house, it’s like a family, so we don’t think about that, that we have three captains or we have four captains. We think that we are one team. It’s as good as an institution where we have learned a lot, grown over there, and gone on to play for India. We work as a unit when we get into that dressing room.” SKY said.

“Yes, there are a lot of captains in the team, but (when) we sit together, (be it) five people, seven, (or) ten, we take a call… how do we want to take the ship forward?” he added.

After having a forgettable outing in the last edition, the Mumbai Indians are all set to take on the Chennai Super Kings on March 23. Fans are eagerly waiting to witness another fresh chapter of classic MI-CSK rivalry.
