Sachin Tendulkar speaks On Son Arjun Tendulkar’s Cricketing Future

Arjun Tendulkar made his long-awaited debut for Mumbai Indians this Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL 2023) edition. The 23-year-old speedster turned up for his side in four matches, and his match-winning final over against SRH turned out to be the highlight of his maiden IPL gig.

His father, former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has now opened up about his son’s future, and revealed what advices he has in store for young Arjun going ahead.

Sachin Tendulkar reveals advice for son Arjun

India’s batting legend Sachin Tendulkar has urged son Arjun to remain focused on his game. The former opener recalled his own childhood, and talked about how he was backed by his own family to chase his cricketing dream.

Tendulkar claimed that he will try to create a similar atmosphere for his son, and encourage him to pay attention to his game. During a recent book launch event, the 2011 World Cup winner said:

“I am trying to create the same environment which was created for me. When you appreciate yourself, people will appreciate you. Pay attention to your game as what my father used to say, and now I am telling Arjun.”

The 50-year-old also urged all parents to give the required freedom to their children. Citing his own example, he stated:

“I got the support from my family. They gave me freedom. I urge parents to give freedom to their children as well.”

Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as one of the greatest to have ever graced the game. The former opening batter finished his career as the highest run-getter and century-maker in ODIs and Tests, and reached the peak of his professional career by lifting the World Cup in front of his home crowd in 2011.
