Washington Sundar in IPL 2023 (Twitter)
Washington Sundar’s official Twitter account seems to have been hacked as of Monday, June 5.
Unlike Sundar’s regular tweets, his feed has been infested with several cryptocurrency-related posts. The cricketer made his last official tweet on June 2, when he shared a Gillette commercial featuring himself through an eight-second video.
Sundar’s Twitter account possibly compromised
Several fans are wondering if Washington Sundar’s Twitter account has been compromised by another party, after witnessing a sudden shift in cricketer’s tweeting style on the micro-blogging site.
One can see several tweets related to certain cryptocurrencies, which prompted some fans to ask Sundar if his account has been hacked or not.
Notably, Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya and IPL franchise RCB also got their Twitter accounts infiltrated with cryptocurrency and NFT tweets not long ago.
Washington Sundar represented the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the recently-concluded IPL 2023 season. However, the 23-year-old only played the first half of the tournament for his side, as a hamstring injury kept him out of action thereafter.
The star all-rounder played seven matches, and managed to pick just three wickets at an expensive average of 48.67. Interestingly, all three of those wickets came in a single game, thus tendering his remaining six fixtures with wicketless figures.
Sundar also failed to make any notable contribution with the bat, listing just 60 runs at an average of 15 and a strike-rate of 100.
Recent stats aside, the Indian spinner holds impressive numbers at the international level, especially in ODIs and T20I matches. He has claimed 45 wickets in white-ball cricket so far, while maintaining a tight economy rate in both formats.
