MS Dhoni in full flow vs DC [iplt20.com]
Despite suffering a 20-run loss at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vizag, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fans were quite ecstatic seeing the vintage Mahendra Singh Dhoni show.
The former CSK captain walked out to bat at number 8 and showed glimpses of his former self, taking down the DC attack with utmost ease. He hammered a quick-fire 16-ball 37, laced with 4 fours and 3 sixes as the reigning IPL champions fell short of the target.
The legendary batter was not needed to bat in CSK's opening two fixtures. However, as CSK lost their top order cheaply, it was time for the MSD show in Vizag, and he didn't disappoint his fans. The 42-year-old smashed Anrich Nortje all around the park and effortlessly cleared the ropes.
Aussie great pleads MSD to come up the order
Seeing the vintage MS Dhoni in full-flow, the former Australian cricketer, Brett Lee has urged the CSK management to promote MS Dhoni up the order, so that he can maximise his hitting abilities.
“He (Dhoni) was on tonight, he was not rusty. I do want more from him in terms of batting. Get yourself up the order. He is outstanding, his brain is still nice and sharp, CSK please get MS Dhoni up the order,” Lee opined on Jio Cinema.
Talking about the match, DC posted a healthy 191/5 on the board, courtesy of a brilliant fifty from Rishabh Pant. Chasing the target, CSK fumbled and could only muster 171/6. The Yellow Army will have a chance to bounce back when they take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 5.
