In a revealing post-match analysis, former Australian cricketer and IPL winning captain Adam Gilchrist dissected Hardik Pandya's recent comments, hinting at a sense of isolation brewing within the Mumbai Indians camp.

Pandya's poignant remarks, especially his reference to the influence of Dhoni shed light on his perceived lack of backing within his own team. Pandya's subtle reference to the supportive environment around Chennai Super Kings' captain, Ruturaj Gaikwad, juxtaposed against his own situation within Mumbai Indians, spoke volumes.

Here's what he said:

“The line about Dhoni is an interesting one. It tells me that he may be feeling like a lone wolf at the moment. Maybe Hardik Pandya is not feeling the support around him,” he told Cricbuzz.

His analysis underscores the potential rifts within the Mumbai Indians squad. Adding depth to the analysis he further said, "His observation of the opposition is that he is not crediting the captain Ruturaj Gaikwad there."

"He is saying he (Gaikwad) has got support from the back. And that tells me a bit about Hardik’s mindset at the moment. It also shows the uncertainty and hesitancy within the Mumbai Indians as a package."

Moreover, murmurs within the cricketing fraternity have amplified concerns over Mumbai Indians' handling of the captaincy transition. As per Virender Sehwag a lack of communication, with Rohit Sharma allegedly blindsided by his removal as captain.

There were also reports that Suryakumar Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah are also not happy with this decision thereby painting a picture of discontent within the squad.

As Mumbai Indians navigate through turbulent waters, they need to make amends quickly because MI has already lost four games with the most recent one being against CSK at their own home Wankhede. In order to move up the ladder, they will have to restore the team's bond between the players.
