Over the years, cricket has seen many superstars, but some of them have emerged as the wonder kid, just like Vaibhav Suryavanshi. The 14-year-old kid has kept the opponent bowlers on their toes, whether it's on the international level or in the IPL stage.
As Suryavanshi is on fire in the ongoing Asia Cup Rising Star stage, even the opponent bowler couldn’t believe his calibre. As India A gears up to face Oman next, even players from the Oman camp admitted they were shocked by the sheer brilliance Suryavanshi brings to the crease.
Aryan Bisht can’t hide his amazement at Suryavanshi’s skill
After shattering the IPL stage with some extraordinary fireworks, the international stage is now witnessing Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s excellence. As India A side is participating in the ongoing Asia Cup Rising Stars in Doha, the 14-year-old batter stunned the world in the first match.
Facing the UAE, he smashed a brilliant hundred and played a blistering knock of 144 runs in just 42 balls. His fearless hitting didn’t just stun fans; even India’s next opponents, the Oman squad, were left in disbelief. Speaking to the Times of India, Oman player Aryan Bisht hailed him as an ‘exceptional talent’.
“We’ve seen Vaibhav Suryavanshi on TV, and now we’ll be playing against him. When you’re 14 and you’re able to hit the ball that far, that’s just exceptional talent. It’s something not everybody can do - definitely something I couldn’t do at that age. 14 saal k ho, kaise maarte ho ye chakke? He’s really talented and very good, so I’m really looking forward to playing against him,” Bisht said.
Samay is looking forward to meeting the wonder kid
Just not against the UAE, when India’s batting order crumbled against the Pakistan Shaheens, Suryavanshi walked in and delivered a vital, fiery 45 off just 28 balls. As they gear up for the next match, Oman player Samay Shrivastava shared his excitement about meeting the kid.
“It’s a great opportunity to meet him. I just want to know his mindset about cricket. He’s only 14 and he’s already doing well for his cricket and for India. I definitely want to meet him - the way he hits those big sixes is extraordinary. I really want to meet him and talk to him,” he added.
Placed in Group B, India is standing in the number 2 position in the points table with one victory and one defeat in its two matches. As November 18 approaches, the India A side will be determined to bounce back strong against Oman and reclaim momentum after their recent setback.
