Punjab Kings have been the perennial underachievers of IPL, and last played the final of the league in 2014. However, this season, they have looked like a different team and have been playing some dominating cricket, winning games consistently and in a convincing fashion.
Prabhsimran Singh Shares His Views On Punjab Kings' Success In IPL 2025
Prabhimsran Singh is one of the players who has performed well for them in this edition. He has consistently scored runs at the top of the order, and has provided them with fast starts that are necessary in T20 cricket.
Now, ahead of the game against Delhi Capitals, the PBKS opener opened up about the performance of the team this season and the backing he got from the franchise. The right-handed opener stated that he has been with Punjab Kings since seven years and thanked the franchise for trusting him.
He mentioned that they are playing a different brand of cricket this season and added that they have mostly dominated in the tournament. He reckoned that they have high chances of making it to the playoffs, and if they do, they would surely go for the trophy.
"Merko 7 saal hogaye hai Punjab Kings ke saath, mujhe toh inhone bahut back kiya hai. Aur Iss Saal lag bhi raha hai ke hum different cricket khel rahe hai, aur merko aise lag raha hai zadatar hum dominate he kar rahe hai. Humare qualification chances kaafi high hai, aur qualify huye toh trophy ke liye he jaayenge."
Prabhsimran Singh has scored 437 runs this season at an average of 39.72 and a strike-rate of 170 which shows the kind of impact he has made. Thus, all Punjab Kings fans would be hoping that he will deliver more impactful performances and take PBKS to a place they have never been before.
