India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour, expressed his excitement about Rohit Sharma's aggressive approach as India's opener in the World Cup 2023. Rathour revealed that this change in Rohit's batting style was entirely Rohit's decision. Rohit played selfless innings, providing the team with strong starts.

In a crucial match against South Africa at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Rohit took on the South African bowlers, particularly their lead pacer Marco Jansen, scoring 40 off 24 balls. He adapted to the pitch conditions that slowed down after the initial 10 overs and helped India reach 91 for 1 during the first powerplay.

India's strong start allowed Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer to build their partnership without worrying about the run rate. India posted 326 runs, and South Africa was bundled out for just 83 in response. This victory secured India's top position in the World Cup points table with eight wins in as many matches.

Here's what he said:

''It's absolutely Rohit's idea. He's taking the initiative. If there's something on the wicket, he's looking to go for his shots. It is working out really well for the team. He's one guy who's leading with his action."

Hitman has been a standout performer in the World Cup, amassing 442 runs at an impressive average of 55, including a century and two fifties. What sets him apart is his striking strike rate of 122, demonstrating his aggressive approach.

Rohit's fearless style at the top of the order has disrupted opposition bowling strategies, making him a formidable force. India's victory in their latest match helped them equal their best-ever World Cup winning streak, raising hopes of an unbeaten run in the tournament.

They now gear up to face the Netherlands in Bangalore on November 12, aiming to conclude the league stage without a single loss.
