When it is India vs Pakistan in cricket, the tournament or the stage does not matter. The rivalry's passion, emotion, and intensity make it the best in the cricketing universe.

India A and Pakistan Shaheens faced off in the fourth match of the Men's Emerging T20 Asia Cup 2024. Notably, MI youngster Tilak Varma is leading the Indian side in this tournament, while Mohammad Haris is in charge of the Pakistan unit.

Indian openers gave the team a solid start

Winning the toss, the Indian team chose to bat first. The openers, Abhishek Sharma and Prabhsimran Singh, set the stage with a formidable 68-run partnership in just six overs, laying a strong foundation for the team. When the first wicket fell, skipper Tilak Varma stepped onto the crease, maintaining the momentum.

The young southpaw played a steady knock of 44 runs from 35 deliveries and provided solidity to the middle-order. Tilak Varma's innings was decorated with two boundaries and two beautiful maximums.

Tilak Varma played the shot of the day

The first of the two maximums was a sight to behold. On the second delivery of the 18th over, Mohammad Imran Jr. bowled a full delivery at the middle and leg stump line. Tilak, deep in the crease, lofted the ball with a straight bat over the long-on fence for six runs. The shot was a perfect blend of grace, elegance, and class, leaving the fans in awe.

India managed to defend the competitive total they put on the board

Carried by a collective effort from the unit, the Indian team posted a competitive total of 183 runs on the board at the end of their 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan scored 176/7 in their 20 overs, losing the match by seven runs. Arafat Minhas was the highest scorer for Pakistan Shaheens with 41 runs off 29 deliveries.
