Ashish Nehra Asked To Replace Sacked Abhishek Nayar; Told To Work With Indian Cricket

Former India spinner turned cricket analyst Harbhajan Singh has voiced his opinion on the recent development in Indian cricket. Notably, a couple of days ago, the BCCI, in a surprise move, sacked India's assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, just eight months after his appointment. 

The Men in Blue have had string of poor results in the last 10 months, but the report mentioned that an internal rift led to Nayar's sacking. Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh, who is quite active on social media platforms, remarked that if India is looking for a deputy then Nehra is the most suitable option. 

"I think there is no better coach than him for the Indian team in the present scenario. He is a great coach. BCCI should ask him whether he wants to work with the Indian team or not. I don't think he will agree because he won't be able to give that much time. But there it no better option than him," Harbhajan said in a video posted on his YouTube channel.

Ashish Nehra Shines With Gujarat Titans

Ashish Nehra is hogging the headlines for his work with Gujarat Titans. Notably, the former India bowler joined GT in their inaugural year and led the then Hardik Pandya-led side to a title in their maiden season. 

Further, in the ongoing season, Gujarat Titans are doing well and are the table toppers with 12 points in eight games. Meanwhile, Abhishek Nayar has rejoined KKR after his departure from the Indian team and joined the defending champions as mentor.
