Pakistan batting maverick Mohammad Rizwan holds a stellar all-format record in international cricket. Moreover, the dashing wicketkeeper-batter is also a recipient of some impressive batting stats in T20Is, having accrued over 3,000 runs in his first 100 matches at an average of nearly 50.

Celebrating the decorated T20I career of Mohammad Rizwan, here we take a look at five of the highest scores he has ever recorded in the format for Pakistan.

In the third and final T20I from Pakistan’s December 2020 tour of New Zealand, Mohammad Rizwan belted 89 runs from just 59 balls at the top of the order. The elegant right-handed batter pounded 10 boundaries and three sixes in his calculated knock, and helped Pakistan chase down New Zealand’s 173-7 to avoid a 3-0 series sweep.

Rizwan shared a swift 40-run stand with opening partner Haider Ali before adding 72 runs to the total alongside senior partner Mohammad Hafeez. Countering the likes of Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson at Napier’s McLean Park, the Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter perished at the brink of the finishing line before Iftikhar Ahmed notched up the winning runs in a thrilling final over finish.

Legendary Pakistan batter Mohammad Rizwan notched up the 26th half-century of his T20I career by tallying 90 unbeaten runs from just 63 balls against New Zealand at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch in January 2024. Opening the innings for his team in the fourth T20I of the tour, the senior ‘Men in Green’ cricketer overcame Saim Ayub and Babar Azam’s early dismissals and flogged six boundaries and two sixes in his counterattacking knock.

Unfortunately for Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan ended up losing the match by seven wickets to go 0-4 down in the five-match series.

Mohammad Rizwan struck a series-winning 91* off 60 balls against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club back in April 2021. With the series tied at 1-1 prior to the decider, Rizwan’s cunning half-century and a 126-run partnership with Babar Azam set up Pakistan’s monumental 165-run total upfront. The cricketer himself listed five boundaries and launched three huge sixes in his well-paced innings, before ‘Men in Green’ bowlers ensured the tourists walked away with a 24-run win.

Earlier in the same tour, Mohammad Rizwan also notched up a match-winning 82* as part of his 186-run ‘Player of the Series’ winning tally.

In the series-deciding fifth T20I match against New Zealand at the Rawalpindi Stadium back in April 2023, Mohammad Rizwan missed a chance of logging his second century in the format by a whisker. The cricketer batted out the innings for Pakistan to remain unbeaten at 98* from 62 balls with seven boundaries and four sixes.

Rizwan formed blistering partnerships with Iftikhar Ahmed and Imad Wasim in the backend of the inning to blaze Pakistan to a monumental 193-5 from 20 overs. The New Zealanders, however, mowed down their target in the final over courtesy of Mark Chapman’s unbeaten ton.

Mohammad Rizwan hauled his maiden and lone T20I century to date against a visiting South African attack back in February 2021. Facing the Proteas in the first T20I of the three-match series, the dynamic batter paced his innings to near perfection after losing opening partner and captain Babar Azam for a first-ball duck. Over the course of his 64-ball unbeaten knock, Rizwan launched six boundaries and seven huge sixes to slap a career-best 104*.

His innings helped Pakistan form a match-winning total of 169-6 at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium after being invited to bat first.
