Punjab Kings (PBKS) have substituted Rahul Chahar and opening batter Prabhsimran Singh has come in as the impact player.
With the Kings chasing a tricky total on a two-paced attack, it was widely expected that they'll bring in a specialist batter, to strengthen their batting lineup.
Prabhsimran started the IPL 2023 season a positive note. The opener slammed a scintillating fifty against the Rajasthan Royals, but he failed to capitalise the momentum and had a string of low scores after that.
Post his fifty against the Royals, Prabhsimran scored back-to-back ducks, and was eventually turned into an impact player as the season went by.
He’ll be gearing to end the run-scoring drought in the ongoing match against the RCB.
Talking about the match, RCB were put into bat and they posted a decent 174 for 4 on the board. Both the openers, Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis scored their respective fifties, but PBKS brought things back in the middle overs with a couple of wickets.
At the time of writing, PBKS are 20 for 2, still needing 154 to win.
