Named after Maharaja Ranjitsinhji, the first Indian to play international cricket, the Ranji Trophy is India’s most premier tournament in the domestic circuit. Over the years, the competitive tournament has produced a bunch of premium Test talents, including Rahul Dravid, Ravindra Jadeja, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammad Siraj. 

Inaugurated in 1934, the tournament has stood the test of time and is still considered one of the toughest and most competitive domestic tournaments in the world. Having said that, the Mumbai Cricket Team has dominated the Ranji Trophy for a long-long time, winning as many as 42 titles, with 15 trophies in a row.
