Ben Stokes, England's star all-rounder and captain is not hurrying to commit to not playing ODI cricket. Stokes retired from the 50 over format in July, stating "I can't give my teammates 100 per cent of myself in this format anymore". The all-rounder admitted after returning from injuries that playing all three formats was near impossible for him.

England head coach Matthew Motts is hoping to persuade Stokes to feature in the ODI World Cup next year. But this is what Stokes had to say about the matter.

Stokes not ruling out a return

"Who knows? At the moment, being out here, my focus is solely on this series (against Pakistan). But it's one of those things. But who knows how I might feel towards a World Cup at the time.

"Going to a World Cup is an amazing thing to do, to represent your country. But at the moment I'm not even thinking about that."

Stokes revealed that Rob Key had approached him on a similar note as Matthew Motts but the all-rounder was set on his decision of retiring.

"Keysy pulled me to the side in the UAE and as soon as he said '50-over World Cup' I just walked away."
