This year's Indian Premier League (IPL) has been dubbed the "Injury Premier League," with multiple franchises struggling to cope with the injuries to some of their key players. Punjab Kings' Raj Bawa is the latest name to be added to the growing list of injured players in the lucrative league.

Bawa, who played an instrumental role in Yash Dhull's India U19 team's World Cup win last year, has been ruled out of the tournament due to a shoulder injury.

The Shikhar Dhawan-led team, meanwhile, acted swiftly to address the issue, announcing the signing of all-rounder Gurnoor Singh Brar for INR 20 lakhs as Bawa's replacement for the remainder of the tournament.

While Sam Curran, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Shikhar Dhawan, Kagiso Rabada, and Liam Livingstone are all well-known names in the franchise, we are shining a spotlight on Gurnoor Singh Brar, the newest recruit of Punjab Kings at OneCricket.

Who is Gurnoor Singh Brar?

Gurnoor Singh Brar is a left-handed batter and right-arm fast bowler, who is making a name for himself in Punjab's first-class cricket. He made his first-class debut for the state team in December 2022 and has been impressing ever since.

He has so far featured in five first-class matches and scored 107 runs at a strike rate of 120.22 and picked up seven wickets at an economy rate of 3.80.

With an already stacked team of star players, earning a place in the playing XI of the Punjab Kings this season will be a daunting task for him. Nevertheless, rubbing shoulders with such accomplished and experienced players will provide him with invaluable learning opportunities.

How Are Punjab Kings Faring in IPL 2023?

Punjab Kings opened their tournament campaign with a win against Kolkata Knight Riders in a rain-affected match. The likes of Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jitesh Sharma, and Arshdeep Singh picked up where they left off last season, playing a significant role in the victory.

After a successful start to the tournament, they are gearing up to face Rajasthan Royals, their long-time rivals, in their second match on April 5th in Guwahati. The team will be eager to maintain their winning momentum and secure another win.
