The second T20I match of the three-match series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka will be played on Wednesday, April 5 at University of Otago Oval, Dunedin, New Zealand.

Sri Lanka turned their fortunes around in the first T20I, putting behind their losses in the Test and ODI series, as they outplayed the hosts in the super over to take an early lead in the series.

Asked to bat first, Sri Lanka made the most of the opportunity, with Kusal Perera and Charith Asalanka registering half-centuries to propel the team to a mammoth total of 196 runs for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga and Kusal Mendis also made valuable contributions with their brief but impactful innings.

New Zealand, in the second innings responded with an equal score of Sri Lanka's total in the 20 overs, led by Tom Latham, Daryl Mitchell, and Rachin Ravindra's stellar knocks. However, the hosts struggled to get going with the bat in the Super Over, managing only eight runs while losing two wickets. Sri Lanka made quick work of the chase, winning in just two balls.

With Sri Lanka leading the series 1-0, they will be full of confidence and looking to clinch the series with a win in the second T20I. However, New Zealand will be eager to bounce back and level the series. All in all, the stage is set for an exciting T20I clash on Tuesday yet again.
