After some huge losses to the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) with their key players getting injured and missing due to injuries, another shocker came in this morning for the franchise with their star right-handed batter Rajat Patidar out of entire season with a serious Achilles' Heel injury.

This blow is too heavy for the side to deal as the number three's slot is still vacant and they would be requiring some quality player to properly replace him.

Anuj Rawat, Suyash Prabhudessai and Mahipal Lomror are some of the options available in the squad but surely, they would be looking to add one more talent in their armoury from the unselected pool of players.

Therefore, we have found three young Indian domestic batters who could be drafted in place of Rajat Patidar:

1. Rohan Patil

With some scintillating batting during the Maharaja Trophy 2022, the left-hander Rohan Patil has been in the news since then. The 21-year-old struck a magnificent 112 not out to earn the plaudits with his eventful batting.

Being from Karnataka himself, Patil is very much versed with Chinnaswamy's conditions and could be quite useful during the home games. Moreover, at number three, there would be more opportunity for him to face more deliveries, thus, make an impact with his valuable shots.

2. Ankit Bawne

Maharashtra's middle order batter Ankit Bawne has been in the limelight for a past decade or so but hasn't been able to break the shackles to reach the top-level cricket. His only match in the IPL came for Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) during the 2017 edition where he couldn't do much with the chance.

With plethora of experience under his belt, the RCB surely won't be disappointed if proceed ahead with this pick. Bawne is known to play some solid knocks with his decent technique that can be used effectively in most conditions.

3. Priyam Garg

Having played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the two seasons of the IPL, Priyam Garg has been a name that could give the Bangalore-based side a real chance to prosper. The right-handed batter's name came to prominence after leading his side in the 2020 U-19 World Cup.

He is a great striker of the cricket ball and if asked to bat at number three, the Meerut-born could come in and play big shots right from the start.
