This New York team is made up of some powerful batsmen in T20’s consisting of skipper Kieron Pollard, Tim David and Nicholas Pooran who have shown their game changing abilities in the IPL. It will also be captivating to watch the all round abilities of David Wiese and the Afghan superstar Rashid Khan who is also one of the highest wicket takers in T20 to go with his explosive batting ability at the lower order. They consist of a solid pace bowling attack with Trent Boult and Kagiso Rabada who have given world class performances for both franchise and Country in White ball cricket.
How the Afghan Sensation Turns the Tables in T20 Matches?
Rashid's Figures in Win/Loss Causes since 2021
Rashid Khan has proved himself time and again why he is considered a world class prospect especially in T20 cricket. He is currently the second highest wicket taker in T20’s behind Dwayne Bravo with 555 wickets in 408 matches and the first Afghanistan player to get 100 T20I wickets with an economy around 6.00 and 6.50 which is phenomenal in T20 cricket.
His contribution in Franchise Cricket in the last two years have been exceptional. Since 2021 he’s been on the winning side 67 times where he's taken 99 wickets at an economy of 6.32 with a dot percentage of 41%. These stats show his consistent performances for his side but, it's also interesting to see his performances in losses where he has taken 82 wickets from 66 games at an economy of 7.28 which is only slightly higher than his overall economy.
The dot percentage in losses is not much different than the one in wins which is 40.2%. Through these numbers we come to know that Rashid Khan is always one of the best performers for his side regardless of the results which makes him a dangerous player against any opposition’s batting lineup. This also proves why batsmen normally play him out instead of attacking since he’s not only difficult to pick but also has great accuracy as well. With his batting also coming through for his side just makes him another player to watch out for.
Conclusion
Overall this looks like one of the most star studded and dangerous sides in the league. Filled with powerful and experienced T20 batsmen who have game changing abilities. The likes of Pollard, Pooran and David will be an advantage for any team. Their pace Bowling attack looks good with some world class bowlers who will lead it. The only Challenges they might face is the lack of another attacking spin option and picking the playing eleven with a lot of stars involved. In conclusion it still looks like one of the most balanced sides in the league.
