On Friday, Pakistani speedster Shaheen Afridi showcased his batting prowess to perfection, slamming four sixes off New Zealand spinner Michael Bracewell in a single over in the ongoing T20 Blast competition. Afridi, who represents Nottinghamshire in the tournament, scored a quick-fire 29, which, unfortunately, was insufficient to help his team trump a mammoth target of 227 runs.

The incident took place in the 16th over, when Nottinghamshire were reeling at 133 for seven, with Afridi and Samit Patel batting on 5* and 3*, respectively. Seeing his team on the verge of defeat, Afridi had to go all-out against Michael Bracewell, who was brought back to bowl the final over of his spell.

After smashing two sixes over the mid-wicket, Afridi struck a sensational hit down the ground to bring smiles back in the Notts camp. If that was not enough, he took the onslaught to another level, hammering a gigantic hit over midwicket and collecting 26 runs off the over in this process.

Although his efforts couldn't help his team get over the line, it certainly reduced the deficit, preventing their net run rate from an exponential downfall.

Nottinghamshire have had an underwhelming season so far, occupying the seventh spot with two wins in five appearances. They will take on Warwickshire in the 42nd fixture of the tournament in Edgbaston today.
