After a lean patch of about three years, Indian batter Virat Kohli has finally managed to overcome his ghosts and taken his side to semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia. Playing some incredible knocks, Kohli has been in sublime touch ever since the mega-event began.

Recently, while speaking on the RCB Podcast, Kohli asserted that there was just one person who genuinely checked on him during the tough time he endured and it was none other than former skipper MS Dhoni.

Kohli was clear on the front that they share a powerful bond among themselves which has helped them stay together for years. Earlier during the Asia Cup, he also praised Dhoni for being the only person to text him after his Test retirement.

What Virat said about Dhoni

"The only person who has genuinely reached out to me has been MS Dhoni. And for me that is such a blessing to know that I could have such a strong bond and such a strong relationship with someone who is such a senior to me where things are, it is a friendship which is based on a lot of mutual respect,

"It is one of the things he mentioned in the same message reaching out to me, that when you are expected to be strong and looked at as strong individual, people forget to ask how are you doing? So, it hit home to me, it was like this is it."

Kohli will next be seen in action against England on Thursday at Adelaide Oval in the second semi-final.
