Todd Murphy is the latest sensation to have come out of Australia. Touted as the successor of Nathan Lyon, Murphy made a dream debut against India in the ongoing Nagpur Test, picking up his maiden fifer.

Australia scored a mere 177 in the first innings, and in reply, India were off to a solid start, with skipper Rohit Sharma leading the charge. However, Murphy changed the complexion of the game with wickets of KL Rahul, R Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara, and Virat Kohli. He further added scalps of Ravindra Jadeja, KS Bharat, and Mohammad Shami to bag 7 for 124 on his Test debut.

Speaking to Perth Now, Murphy laughed out when he was compared to the late great Shane Warne, stating that he is not similar to Warnie.

"I shook my head when I saw that comparison, I'm not sure I'm anything similar to Warnie," Murphy said.

The youngster also stated that he took confidence after observing and playing alongside some of the best in the business.

He added: "Being around some of the guys who had played Test cricket, observing everything and competing in the nets and bowling to the Sri Lankans, I took a lot of confidence out of that and reflected and went back, trusted myself a bit more and thought 'what I've got can be good enough' and believe in that."

Talking about the match, India posted a healthy 400 in their first innings, courtesy of a brilliant hundred from Rohit Sharma, and stellar contributions from Axar Patel (84), and Ravindra Jadeja (70). The home team lead by 223 runs.
