Rohit Sharma was at his imperial best against the Aussies on the second day of the ongoing Nagpur Test match.

On a tricky surface, Rohit led from the front and scored a magnificent 120 to lead India's charge. He built small partnerships with R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as India took a first innings lead over the visitors.

Speaking on his knock, India's batting coach, Vikram Rathour praised the skipper for his temperament and the way he batted against the spinners.

"The  innings was a very special innings because it was not easy. He was made to work very hard. And he showed a lot of temperament. It was a very important innings from the team’s point of view. It was not easy to score runs on this surface, but the kind of temperament he showed was very special,” Rathour said.

He also showered praise on the way Rohit adapts to the situation and is someone who can change the complexion of the match.

"He adapts really well. He is someone who can change his game. We know how he bats in India and how he scores his runs in the series he started playing as an opener in South Africa. Then we travelled to England where he played completely differently in the surfaces that require you to play tight cricket,” Rathour added.

At the time of writing, India have been dismissed for 400, with Axar Patel scoring a majestic 84. Todd Murphy - the line warrior for his side has picked up 7 wickets on his Test debut.
