MS Dhoni explains why people connect much more with him than other players

MS Dhoni is not just a name, but a brand himself and he has got his admirers spread all around the world. He's one of the most followed sports personalities from India. Many people get inspired by him not only for the way he plays or due to the fact that he won three ICC tournaments while leading team India, but because of his conduct on and off the field. 

His calm demeanour has made him an icon, and a role model for many people around the globe. He changed the dynamics of Indian Cricket after winning the inaugural T20 World Cup 2022.

The Indian legend is content with the fact that people connect with him as a player. He reckons that his greatest strength has been that people tend to connect more with him because of his unorthodox style of playing the game.

"Reason why people connect with me is because the way I play cricket is how they play cricket. When you see Sachin paaji cricket when you see him & you're like I can't play like him, & when people see me playing & they think 'Aise to hum bhi khelte hai' (this is how we play as well),"  MS Dhoni was quoted as saying.

Currently, Dhoni is looking after the IPL 2023 preparations of the Chennai Super Kings. He'll be gunning to get his hands on yet another IPL trophy this season.
