With a few days left for the marquee India-Pakistan match, the Men in Blue are tinkering over their middle-order combination that features Hardik Pandya, Dinesh Karthik, Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant. With a lot of factors in mind, the Indian side is trying to find a place for left-hander Pant who has a lot to offer.

However, his recent form in the T20Is isn't upto the mark, which might prompt the team management to take tough calls ahead of the all-important clash. While Pandya and Surya look all set to retain their place, Karthik, too, isn't far behind after an impressive run of form.

Now, former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina has commented on the place of the southpaw in the XI, making the big claim that Pant currently doesn't have a place in the playing eleven, however, they somehow need to find a place for him. He said,

"Bowlers will have a lot of edge. They know which batters are capable. We need to have one left-hander in the middle-order, then you can really change the momentum because if you see KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Dinesh, Surya, I don't think Rishabh has a place, but we need to somehow bring him for the middle overs. Because some of the spinners, you need to target them."

India will play Australia and New Zealand in the warm-up matches on the 17th and 19th of October in Brisbane before the game against their neighbours on the 23rd of October.
