Indian maestro wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant went through a heartbreaking accident last December when he was driving home to surprise his family before New Year's. Since then, the wicketkeeper has been recovering in hospital.

Pant, who has been operated on for ligament damage, recently gave his maiden interview after the accident, where he stressed what the incident had taught the 25-year-old.

While talking to the IANS, the southpaw said after two months of the tragedy, he started to feel good about his recovery. He further said that God has been grateful, and he will be fully fit very soon.

"Something I value today is enjoying my life to the fullest and this includes the smallest of things that we ignore in our daily routine. Everyone today is hustling and working extremely hard to achieve something special, but we’ve forgotten to enjoy the little things which give us joy every single day," Pant said further in the interview.

Furthermore, the stumper cited that it's hard to miss cricket because playing the sport is the most important in his life, and he is not thinking of anything apart from getting back on his feet.

Pant also told a bit told his daily schedule that he is following to regain fitness, taking help from a top-flight physiotherapist.

"I try to follow my daily routine as per schedule. I wake up in the morning and then I undergo my first physiotherapy session of the day with my physiotherapist. Post that, I take some rest and time to refresh myself for the second session. I start my second session soon after, and train according to how much pain I can endure, especially after a tough first session," Pant told.

"To end the day, I have a third session of physiotherapy in the evening, however, I do have my daily fruits and fluids in between them. I also try to sit under the sun for some time, and this process will continue until I’m able to walk properly again."

Without the services of the regular Test keeper, India are forced to go with KS Bharat as their gloveman. Whereas the likes of KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan are filling Pant's shoes in the limited-overs. The Delhi-based franchise also has to find a replacement captain as the middle-order batter will miss this edition of the Indian Premier League.
