After piling on runs after runs during the entire year of 2022, India's star batter Suryakumar Yadav was breathing fire with the bat, smoking sixes all over the park. There have been many experts who have lauded the right-hander for his brilliance, however, there is one who thinks still wasn't at his best.

Former Australian World Cup-winning captain Ricky Ponting spoke on the fact that SKY still has miles to go to be able to fully express himself. Further, he mentioned how other fit players have motivated him to be the fittest that he can ever get.

Overall, he rated Surya as one of the best in the history of the game on basis of skill and innovation as what he is doing, others will try to do all that as well.

“I think innovation-wise, skill-wise, I haven’t seen a better player in the game. What it’s going to do as well, a lot of other players are going to try and do the things he’s doing and it’s going to add another level of skill to the T20 game all around the world.

"I didn’t think he’d get to the level he’s got to, to be quite honest. He’s worked as hard as he has – you can probably tell by his body shape. He’s probably fitter than he’s ever been, being around the Indian set up with the likes of (Virat) Kohli and Shreyas Iyer and these guys, who are exceptionally fit young guys."

Suryakumar Yadav is currently a part of India's T20I squad for the New Zealand series.
