One of the deadliest bowlers in the world right now, England's Jofra Archer has been out of action since the past two years as plethora of injuries put his career in jeopardy. The right-arm fast bowler after fully recovering from all injuries made his comeback in the ongoing SA20 league for MI Cape Town where he displayed his versatile skills.
However, the upcoming ODI series against South Africa is something that he has kept his eye on. The Barbados-born who took his side to the World Cup title in 2019 spoke about his current fitness mentioning that he is just 80% fit.
Archer further revealed that he feels rusty but believes that once he is at his best, there's no stopping him. He expressed his frustration saying that he is now in a better place and hopeful of things going well ahead.
"It looked fantastic but on the inside, I'm still a bit stiff and trying to take some of the rust away. I'd probably say I'm about 80%. It’s just some fine-tuning now, just more discipline than actual cricket stuff,
“I know whenever I'm fully fit, I don't think there's much that can stop me, it's just a matter of when that was going to be. I'm not going to be upset or bitter about how the timing's been. I think everything happens for a reason and I guess there's a reason I'm here in South Africa right now."
Archer in all likelihood will be seen playing for England during the three-match ODI series against South Africa beginning on the 27th of January.
