Ravi Ashwin, one of India's greatest off-spinner is back in Test cricket. He missed out of the WTC Final a month back but has now made a rollicking comeback with a wicket in just his third over, drawing first blood for India in the  opening Test match of the two-match Test series between West Indies and India.

Ashwin got the wicket of young West Indian opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul in the 13th over of the game when the Windies opening duo were looking quite solid in the middle. Ashwin though produced a ripper coming 'round the wicket to the left-hander and bowling a classic off-break. He gave the ball good flight, angled it on middle as Chanderpaul pressed forward to defend it. The ball turned away and knocked over the off pole to hand Ashwin a classical off-spinner's wicket.

It is Ashwin's 698 wicket in international cricket and two more wickets will take him in the elite list of bowlers with 700 international wickets. The first wicket for West Indies fell on the score of 31. Also, with the wicket of Tagenarine Chanderpaul, Ashwin has become the first Indian bowler to pick the wicket of both father and son in Tests. He has earlier taken the wicket of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, the father of young Tagenarine Chanderpaul.
