Ravi Ashwin speaks on Perth experience ahead of T20 World Cup 2022

Ravi Ashwin is currently in Australia along with the rest of Rohit Sharma’s drawcards for the upcoming T20 World Cup. As of now, the Indian team have set base at Perth’s WACA Stadium for a warm-up game against Western Australia.

The veteran spinner seems to be enjoying his stay in Perth. Ahead of the warm-ups, the cricketer stated that he was overwhelmed by the presence of Indian supporters at the stadium.

Ravi Ashwin talks about “wonderful reception” in Perth

Ravi Ashwin recently claimed that he was amazed to see the number of local Indians in Perth lining up to support the ‘Men in Blue’. The cricketer even described the feeling of his stay in Perth, by calling it a “home away from home”. He said:

“I’ve never seen so many Indians in Perth before. We’ve come here a few times but this is just a wonderful reception. I was just amazed to see the number of locals Indians here and it does feel like a home away from home.”

The spin legend also talked about India’s prospects at the T20 World Cup 2022. While the Indian players will fly to Melbourne for their opening game against Pakistan, they will return to Perth for their third fixture, slated to be played against South Africa.

Ashwin added that he is looking forward to face the Proteas back at the venue, and even praised Temba Bavumba and co. for playing some wonderful cricket of late.
