Craig McMillan questions Kane Williamson's place in the T20I team

The last two years haven't been ideal for Kane Williamson in T20 cricket. Although the talismanic New Zealand batter averages a decent 33.68, his strike rate of a mere 118.18 indicates his inability to accelerate in the shortest format.

In the last T20I series against India, the stylish batter scored 61 in the second game, but consumed 52 deliveries for it. More importantly, 46-run knock, which came in 42 balls, was tagged as a match-losing one by fans and experts.

Meanwhile, legendary former New Zealand cricketer Craig McMillan feels Williamson should rethink about playing T20Is.

McMillan, who represented New Zealand in 260 international matches, has advised the Blackcaps to tweak their T20I lineup by using the likes of Daryl Mitchell up the order and giving Michael Bracewell a consistent run.

Here's what McMillan said

"Kane is one of the world’s best, I just wonder whether T20 is his gig at the moment and whether New Zealand are brave enough to actually make a change, put someone like Daryl Mitchell up at No 3, bring Michael Bracewell, who has some power, into that middle order and say that we’re going to continue to play that aggressive brand of cricket."

New Zealand will tour Pakistan for two Tests and three ODIs later this month.
