Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan claimed that the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is much tougher compared to the Indian Premier League (IPL).

In an interaction with the media during the draft of PSL 2023, which took place on Thursday, December 15 in Karachi Mohammed Rizwan compared PSL with IPL, stating that every player who has played in Pakistan's T20 tournament will say that PSL is the toughest league in the world.

Here's what Rizwan said:

“PSL has stunned the entire world. There were talks earlier that PSL won’t be successful, but even we, as a player, have felt that PSL is a success."

"The IPL is there, but if you ask any player around the world who has played in the PSL, he would say that Pakistan’s league is the toughest in the world.”

The Pakistan veteran further credited PSL for churning out talented players from all over the world:

"The players who are reserves here, they are sitting on the bench at the international level as well. Pakistan is getting good backup players, and PSL should get credit for that."

Pakistan Super League started back in 2015 and has garnered a huge fan following. It is also considered the second-best T20 league in the world after the Indian Premier League.

The eighth edition of the PSL is scheduled to take place next year from February 9 to March 19 and it will be played across four different venues in Pakistan - Karachi, Multan, Rawalpindi, and Lahore.

Lahore Qalandars are the defending champions of PSL 2023. In the last edition of the tournament, Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars trounced Multan Sultans in the final to clinch their maiden PSL title.
