After the home series against South Africa, Australia will tour India for a four-match Test series in February. With two giant powerhouses set to clash, the series is expected to be an absolute blockbuster.

Whenever Australia tour the subcontinent, debates and discussions regarding the spinners' slots take centre stage. So, this time, legendary former Australia opener Mark Waugh has come up with an interesting name he wants to see on the India tour.

Waugh, who represented Australia in 372 international matches, reckons the emerging spinner Patrick Dooley should be included in the Test squad for the India series.

Waugh believes that Dooley, who has grabbed a million eyeballs through his unique bowling action and impactful performances in the Big Bash League, could surprise the Indian batters with his guile and variations.

Here's what Waugh stated

"I’m gonna throw in a real smokey here. He’s playing for the Hurricanes at the moment. Left-arm helicopter, arms and legs everywhere. Patty Dooley,

"I think there’s a bit of mystery about him. He’s got some tricks, which I think you’re gonna need against the Indian batsmen, and he bowls quite accurate. He bowls at the stumps, and he just does enough either way. I know it’s a really left-field selection, but it’s something the selectors may well think about."

Dooley, a left-arm wrist spinner, has been Hobart's trump card in the BBL 12, scalping ten wickets at a surreal economy of 6.38 in just six appearances.

Considering Australia's tendency to experiment with their spin unit, it shouldn't surprise anybody if the tweaker actually gets picked for the India series.
