England's T20I team, led by Jos Buttler, arrived in Pakistan on Thursday with much fanfare and excitement. The visitors clash against the hosts in a seven-match T20I series which takes place across two venues - Karachi and Lahore, starting September 20.

Buttler himself stated that he might feature in the final two games of the series. The smashing opener might sit on the bench throughout the tour, keeping in mind the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 next month.

The 30-year-old calf injury is taking time to heal, and the medical panel is not in favour of rushing the wicketkeeper-batter into the field too soon.

Buttler on his injury

"Speaking to the physios, it is an injury that is not bad, but one that has a risk of recurrence. You don't want to push it too soon, especially with what we have ahead,'

We have warm-up games in Australia so there is no desperate need to get as fit as possible. We've just got to take it as it comes. If I was available for the last couple, that would be the best-case scenario at the minute. It might come earlier than that, it might not at all, but the picture will become clearer in a week or so".

All-rounder Moeen Ali will captain England in absence of Buttler in the first four games in Karachi.
