Former England cricketer James Taylor is back at the Leicestershire Cricket Club, albeit as their batting coach. As a player, the right-handed batter spent three seasons at the club between 2008 and 2011, before shifting to Nottinghamshire for the subsequent four summers.

He broke into the England’s starting XI through his Leicestershire stint, and represented his country in seven Tests and 27 ODIs until his heart condition forced him for early retirement.

The 32-year-old praised the talent pool within the club, and said that he wants to take the team forward in any way he can. He said:

“I'm delighted to be back with Leicestershire. I've got so many fond memories here and I can't wait to add to those. There are some hugely talented players here at Leicestershire, and I can't think of a better place to come and work to try and make a difference.
