Former India cricketer Ravi Shastri described Virat Kohli's feelings after he scored his 28th Test century that was due for over 1200 days.

Between the Test centuries, Kohli batted in whites on 42 occasions and until today, the 28th Test ton eluded him.

The right-hander put the full stop to wait as the three-figure barrier was finally broken in the ongoing fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023.

While commentating on-air, Shastri entrancingly sketched a picture of Kohli's psyche after he scored the hundred, stating that it must have taken a copious weight off his mind.

As the 34-year-old got his hundred, Shastri said, "600kg Gorilla off Virat Kohli's back after his century."

While Australia's first innings total of 480 runs at first seemed tough to breach for India, they took a lead of 91 runs, thanks to Kohli's 186-run knock.

Shubman Gill as well registered a 100-plus score. Also, Axar Patel continued his rich batting form, scoring his third fifty in the series.

Australia ended the penultimate day of the match at 3-0 as they still are 88 runs behind India.
