'It Happens in Cricket...,' Shami after a Heart-Breaking Loss

Mohammed Shami has been in brilliant form in the 2023 season and is a purple cap holder currently with 17 wickets in 9 matches. He showed his stellar form against DC in the 44th game of IPL 2023 as well as he ended with his career-best figures in the IPL with four wickets in his four overs conceding just 11 runs.

Shami got the 'Player of the Match' award for this performance even though his side lost by 5 runs and Shami obviously was disappointed to lose the game after doing his best with the ball. 

He said that he was just trying to bowl right lines and lengths and it does not matter to him the format of the game. He added that he is disappointed with the loss and felt that it was not a difficult total to chase. He mentioned that they lacked one partnership and it happens in cricket. He also added that ball was not swinging and they should have chased down the total. However, he ended on the optimistic note and said that there are still plenty of games to go and they will bounce back.

"Just trying my best to bowl at the right lines and lengths and the right areas no matter which format I am bowling. Disappointed that we lost today. It was not a difficult score to chase. We lacked that one partnership and it happens in cricket. The ball was not swinging much so should have chased it down. But plenty of games still to go and I am sure we will bounce back."  

Gujarat Titans will go up against Rajasthan Royals in their next game. That game will be played on 5th of May at Jaipur.
