Cheteshwar Pujara names the toughest bowler to face in current era

Indian batter, Cheteshwar Pujara has named the toughest bowler he has faced in the current era. 

Pujara, a veteran of 98 Test matches reckons that Australian skipper, Pat Cummins possess the toughest challenge for him as a batter.

In a recent interview with ESPNCricinfo, Pujara was asked who he reckons is the 'toughest bowler' of this era, and the Indian stalwart named the Aussie skipper as the best of the lot.

“Pat Cummins would be the toughest bowler to face in cricket currently,” said Pujara while speaking to ESPNCricinfo in a question and answer segment.

Pujara is currently representing Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy. On Friday, he scored a gritty 91 against Andhra in the second innings and also went past the 12,000 run-mark in first-class cricket.

Post his upcoming game against Tamil Nadu, Pujara will join the Indian squad for the preparations of the Border-Gavaskar series.

Talking about the face-off, Cummins has dismissed Pujara seven times in 17 innings. The Australian captain is the current number one ranked bowler in Tests, and will once again have a battle against Pujara in the upcoming Test series.

Australia's tour of India commences from February 9. The first Test takes place in Nagpur.
