Despite being a formidable white-ball team, India haven't lifted a single ICC trophy since 2013. They have entered the playoffs multiple times, but somehow faltered to jump the final hurdle.

Meanwhile, former Indian captain Kapil Dev opines that the Indian team management needs to take some bold calls in order to ensure the team's success in the ICC events.

Kapil Dev, who led India to their maiden ODI World Cup title, feels that only 2-3 big names like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can't win the team big tournaments; so, the management must take efforts to strengthen the team going into World events.

Here's what he stated

"If you want to win the World Cup, the coach, selectors, and team management will have to make some tough decisions. Personal interests will have to take a backseat and they will need to think about the team,

"If you think Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and 2-3 players will win us the World Cup then that's never going to happen. You should believe in your team. Do we have such a team? Definitely. Do we have certain match winners? Yes, of course! We have players who can win the World Cup."

India are slated to play three T20Is against Sri Lanka from January 3 to 7. After that, both teams will clash in a three-match ODI series.
