Virat Kohli is a once in a generation cricketer and the India great always wanted to play for his nation. From the very beginning, Kohli worked hard to reach the top of the pinnacle as he idolised Sachin Tendulkar tear apart the bowling attacks with utmost ease during his childhood days.

Kohli wasn't invested in studying, rather, he was focusing on becoming the world's best and recently, his Class Teacher from Vishal Bharti Public School stated that Kohli wanted to become just like Tendulkar and he was determined to succeed in the game of cricket.

"When Virat was a child he always used to say 'Ma'am I will be the next Sachin Tendulkar of the Indian Team," Kohli once told his Class Teacher.

Kohli breaking Tendulkar's ODI centuries record

Virat Kohli was touted to be the best batter in ODIs when he first broke in the Indian setup and the India great didn't disappoint as he broke several Sachin Tendulkar records, but nome bigger than surpassing him to become the player with most centuries in ODIs.

During the 2023 World Cup semis against New Zealand, Kohli went past Tendulkar as he scored a stellar ton and became the player with most tons in ODIs. 

Also, in Test cricket, Kohli surpassed Tendulkar to become the fastest batter to reach 27,000 international runs. He reached the milestones in 594 innings, while Little Master achieved it in 623 innings.

At one stage, Kohli was in the race to eclipse Tendulkar and become the player with most Test tons, but the Indian batter had a slump in form since 2020 and has now been surpassed by other greats.
