On Friday, the Big Bash League playoff kicks off as the Sydney Thunder and Brisbane Heat lock horns to stay alive in the competition.

The Eliminator game is scheduled to be played at Sydney Showground Stadium on Friday, January 27.

In their last league stage match, Sydney Thunder secured a convincing three-wicket win against Melbourne Stars to qualify for the playoffs. On the other hand, Brisbane won six games out of the 14 they played to earn their spot in the playoffs.

Coming to head-to-head record, Sydney Thunder will be locking horns with Brisbane Heat third time this season. The Chris Green-led unit emerged victorious on both occasions, and Brisbane will look to not only avenge their previous loss but also eliminate their opposition.

Pitch Report

The pitch at Sydney Showground Stadium has been a balanced one so far in the tournament. We have seen equal contests between bat and ball in the games. The average first innings score here is 147 runs. However, as the pitches in Australia are drying up, the toss-winner will probably bat first.
