Harmanpreet Kaur is all set to lead India in the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup in South Africa starting on Friday.

Ahead of the tournament opener, Kaur praised former Indian men's team captains MS Dhoni and Sourav Ganguly for playing big roles in her evolution as a captain.

Speaking to the Times of India, the 33-year-old talked in detail about what she learned from Dhoni and Ganguly's captaincy.

Here's what Kaur said

"MS Dhoni, we know how clever he was on the field. Today, if you watch Dhoni's old match videos, you can still learn a lot of things from him. I have learned a lot from Ganguly and Dhoni. Always try to pick up small things that can help me and the team on the field. They have played a big role in my life when we talk about captaincy."

The explosive batter further added that she wants to imbibe Ganguly's approach towards players, where he backed players and changed the dressing room environment.

Meanwhile, India suffered a 44-run defeat in their warm-up match last evening against Australia.

The Women in Blue are drawn in Group B alongside Pakistan, West Indies, England, and Ireland. They take on arch-rivals Pakistan on February 12.
