'I Don't Know Where It Came From!?', Shardul Thakur Still Wondering About His Knock

Playing the knock of his life, Shardul Thakur turned heads with his sensational knock of 68 runs from just 29 balls that changed things drastically for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

It was KKR who posted 204 on the board and later, defended the total with ease as the spin trio of Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine and Suyash Sharma decimated the visitors to take their side to victory by 81 runs.

After the match concluded, Shardul spoke about his knock where he seemed quite astonished by how things panned out for him with the bat. The Palghar express reckoned that he still has no idea about how that knock came through.


"Thank you so much. Ah, probably I don't know where it came from. Looking at the scorecard, anyone would have said that we were struggling. And sometimes, you need to listen to your subconscious mind. I need to bat according to the situation and take risks when needed,"

Moreover, he stated that the conditions are tailor-made for the batters which is why it is easier to slog these days.

"You also need to have the skills to do it out here at the higher level. A lot of practice goes behind the scenes. Then these days, there is a period where you need to slog it out and there are guys who will do throwdowns and you need to do range hitting. And you know the pitches, they always suit the batters, you never dare."

Kolkata after this victory will march onto their next game which will be against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 14th April.
