Australia's batting star Steve Smith recently went past Don Bradman's record of 29 centuries after registering his 30th century at the SCG during the third and final Test of the series against South Africa.

The ace batter also quashed the reports of him contemplating taking early retirement from Tests, stating he is currently enjoying his game and is not going anywhere.

Australia has a few crucial tours, including the Border-Gavaskar series against India in February-March and then the Ashes in June-July.

Smith opined on the same, conceding that he is excited for the upcoming big challenges against India and England. The 33-year-old also said that he is trying to help the next generation of batters develop their games.

Here's what Smith stated

"It’s trying to get better, help the team win games of cricket. Think we’ve played some really good cricket the last 12 months. We've got two really big hurdles in front of us with India and the Ashes. For me, it is trying to get better and trying to help some of the other batters coming through,

"I still try to help Marnus (Labuschagne) as much as possible, (Travis) Head, Cameron Green, Matty [Matthew] Renshaw, Marcus Harris… try to impart as much knowledge of conditions and ways to go about. If I can say something and you see that lightbulb go on and someone figures something out I get a big thrill out of that."

The much-hyped Border Gavaskar Trophy 2023, which includes four Tests, will kick off on February 9, with the first match scheduled in Nagpur.

The second and third Tests will be played at Delhi and Dharamshala, respectively, before the action moves to Ahmedabad for the fourth and final Test.
