After facing a slump in form in the Test cricket for a period of time, David Warner is having a real struggle at the highest level. The left-hander hasn't been able to smash a ton since 2020 which caused many to crictise him, latest by former Australian all-rounder Simon O'Donnell.

O'Donell, a veteran of six Tests and 87 ODIs has asked the Aussie left-hander to hang his boots from the longest format as he has not been able to perform in the last few years. Moreover, he thinks that his form is not going to stay with him for too long even if he manages to score in the upcoming games against South Africa.

In the preceding two years, he only has one century to his name with just four fifties from 29 innings amassing just 834 runs at an average of 30.89 which doesn't justify the kind of player he once was.

“I think he’d (Warner) be contemplating and possibly should (retire) at the end of the Sydney Test. We’re not talking about David Warner in the last few innings, we’re talking about David Warner in the last two years, he hasn’t been the same player he was prior to then,

"That indicates to me that if David found form again, it’s not going to be for long. We actually have a sample area over a long period of time where things haven’t been up to standard.”

David Warner will next be playing in the Boxing day Test against the Proteas which will be a chance for him to find his form after returning score of 0 & 3 in the first game.
