England are all set to face New Zealand in the Test series, scheduled to begin from February 16. The first Test at Mount Maunganui will be a day-night affair, played under the floodlights.

The Day-Night Tests have become a common thing in Test cricket. Some experts have even pointed out that to save Test cricket, day-night games should be the way ahead. However, Ollie Robinson has a different take on it.

The England pacer reckons that Test cricket does not need a 'gimmicky' day-night matches.

"There's nothing wrong with Test cricket to start with," stated Robinson.

"I'm not a massive fan of the pink ball. I don't think we need to play these pink-ball games," he added.

England Test team have played six day-night matches, having won just a solitary game, against West Indies in 2017.

England have won 9 of their last 10 Test matches, and have re-invented the way Test cricket is being played. Robinson, 29, believes that the way England have been playing over the last few months, it is enough to attract supporters to the Test format.

"It is bit gimmicky. They're trying to get crowds and change the game a little bit but the way England are playing Test cricket at the moment, I don't think that needs to happen," said Robinson.

England's preparations was hampered by cyclone Gabrielle, but fans from both the teams would be hoping that things go smoothly come the first Test.
